The Asian American Student Association held an ice-cream social Wednesday to welcome back its members and students campuswide.
Student-body officers introduced themselves and announced who the chairmen and chairwomen for the group were.
Junior Jenny Yu says she enjoys participating and being involved in AASA’s activities. One of AASA’s goals is to raise awareness of issues that Asian students face as well as to increase social interactions.
Ryan Yoshida, a junior, said his involvement with the association has helped enhance his campus experience.
“I’ve never had a problem getting along with anyone in AASA,” he said. In fact, he has gotten more involved campuswide, he said, and is now a member of the Associated Students of the University of Utah’s Assembly.
Meetings for the association are held every Wednesday in Union Room 318 at 2 p.m.
